Podcasts are everywhere! Through this new medium, enterprising makers create public-facing audio episodes for the public, and consumers can find episodes on any topic under the sun. Good academic podcasts might spark conversation, democratize knowledge, bring attention to important scholarship, or connect researchers with practitioners, among many other possible goals. Through learner and/or learner - instructor produced podcasts or preexisting ones, language learners can learn digital storytelling, develop genre awareness, explore their multilingual identities, and share viewpoints and perspectives beyond the classroom.  In this interactive session, Stacey M. Johnson, the producer and host of the “We Teach Languages” podcast (https://weteachlang.com/), will explore the concept of academic podcasting. Participants will explore how they might produce and use podcasts to enhance their scholarship, their teaching, and their professional networks. Come with ideas and questions about academic podcasting and let’s imagine and plan together.
