Dr. Hongjing Liao will be a Visiting Scholar at the BLC for one year starting this January. Dr. Liao is Associate Professor of Beijing Foreign Studies University. She also serves as Deputy Secretary General of the China Association for Intercultural Communication, as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Multiple Research Approaches, and as an editorial board member of Intercultural Studies Forum. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in research methods, intercultural communication, public speech, and British Parliamentary debate. Her current research interests include educational research and evaluation, intercultural foreign language teaching and learning, and mixed methods research.
Professor Liao will be working under the supervision of Professor Emerita Claire Kramsch and Professor Rick Kern on a project entitled “facilitating intercultural competence in foreign language teaching and learning.”
